The legendary Ken Collier spinning. Both parts of the mix gathered from deephousepage. Netyaroze 9mo ago. Here is the tracks that i have been able to ID from this mix anyway. com/w/199X - Ken Collier @ Club Heaven, Detroit. Ken Collier, Duane Bradley, Morris Mitchell were in the mix They called themselves TRUE DISCO. My inspiration Thank you fellas RIP Ken & Duane but your sound of music will live on always. Hotwaxx Hale 6y ago. He inspired a generation especially me. I ask Ken one day was there a women DJ on the same level as you in Detroit he answer no. I set my mind at that very moment to become that women. Demetris Dennis Taylor 2y ago.

Ken Collier was a mentor figure for DJ´s like Alton Miller, Derrick May, Kevin Saunderson and many other known and unknown Detroit porducers and DJ´s of today. He was a DJ from the disco and funks 70´s up the the cultural bridge gap of 90´s house where he was the resident at the legendary Club Heaven in Detroit spinning fast paced house to a mostly gay audience. If New York had The Garage, Chicago had the Music Box then Detroit had Ken Collier and Heaven. In the words of Aaron-Carl: Ken Collier is the man who turned me onto House music.

I need some help here.. Are the tracks by Collier him self? 'Do Let's get Brutal' and 'Tained Dub' have a vinyl release?
None of the tracks are from Ken Collier or ever played at Club Heavens. The closes to the playlist are North End Tee's Happy because he and Tee Scott were close. The source for this CD in not valid. Ken's played House Music "Detroit's Godfather of House" at Heaven's just ask DJ Tony Peoples, DJ Cent, DJ Greg Collier, Stacey 'Hotwaxx' Hale' DJ Alan Ester... just to name a few.
No...They are just tracks that were played often in Detroit's Club Heaven by Ken Collier. Check out mixit313 youtube page. Peace!
Its a compilation with favourite tracks the Dj Ken Collier played during his residency at heaven ( see info from cd above) The tracks are probably his edits, but well known disco, funk, new wave classics from 70ies and 80ies from original artists
see youtube playlist on this page
Don't think so mate. "Let's get brutal' I think was produced by Nitro Deluxe.. "Que Tal America" sounds like the track of Two Man Sound.. and "Tainted Dub" refers to http://www.discogs.com/Soft-Cell-Tainted-Love-Where-Did-Our-Love-Go/release/151508 ? But yeah, I never heard this CD, it's just a wild guess, I hope it helps.
