My Krazy Life is the debut studio album by American rapper YG. It was released on March 18, 2014, by CTE World, Def Jam Recordings and Pushaz Ink. The album features guest appearances from Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Rich Homie Quan, Ty Dolla Sign, Schoolboy Q, Meek Mill, Jay Rock, Tory Lanez, Jeezy, TeeFlii and RJ, while the production was primarily handled by frequent collaborator DJ Mustard, along with production from Ty Dolla Sign and Terrace Martin.
With My Krazy Life, YG throws gasoline on ratchet music with the emergent genre's best album to date, transforming the regional sound into a bona fide movement. Ratchet-the hypnotic, skeletal, trunk-rattling aesthetic pioneered by . producer DJ Mustard-has its antecedent in SoCal G-funk and the Bay Area's hyphy sound, and now it finally has its The Chronic. Like Kendrick Lamar's good kid . City, My Krazy Life is a brooding concept album, detailing YG's crazy days, wild nights, and regretful mornings hustling the streets of Compton, where "Daddy told me never.
My Krazy Life also finds YG flexing a greater comfort in regards to songs about women. It might be unreasonable to expect a guy who rose to fame on Toot It and Boot It, whose body of work is rife with vengeful pith like Bitch Betta Have My Money and Youzza Flip, to care about his bedside manner-but he makes inroads. But this album’s sense of place and time isn’t amorphous and dependent on collaborators, as it's been with YG’s peers: My Krazy Life is always kicking back under roadside palm trees or darting through back alleys, shaking foes that give chase. It's a record that's always posted up in sunny SoCal, and whether it's serving up carefree party anthems or dispensing crass advice on whose houses to knock over and what to take, .
My Krazy Life YG to stream in hi-fi, or to download in True CD Quality on Qobuz. My Krazy Life is an excitement-packed journey back to the days when the hardest gun talk and most thrilling, plus provocative, put-downs came from the underbelly of the Golden State, but as much as the album revels in murder, misogyny, and mayhem, . has got that "music as a way out" thing going into overdrive.

March 17, 2014 11:55 AM. by Jesse Fairfax. More conceptual than the average collection of songs, My Krazy Life intentionally draws a cinematic narrative arc. This is a double-edged sword, as it ties the album together thematically, yet also introduces cliché moments such as the Notorious .
A 46-minute tale of celebrations and regrets, the debut album from West Coast hot property YG is the most ambitious hip-hop concept LP in a minute: a 24-hour ride where he gives detailed instruction on how to rob a home – then gives even more details about the consequences. Though he doesn’t quite have the narrative zeal of Kendrick Lamar or Ice Cube, YG rides beats with a singsong flow that’s instantly winning
One great thing about great rap albums: They can lead to more great rap albums. When he made Good Kid, . City in 2012, Kendrick Lamar changed things, showing it was possible to make a rap album with great sweep and ambition that still did all the satisfyingly grandiose things rap albums are supposed to do, and he sold a fuckload of records in the process. Kendrick’s album established Kendrick’s persona - the thoughtful kid from the bad neighborhood who gets involved in bad things even though he knows better - and it used that persona to tell a large, overarching story
