Ningen Isu (人間椅子 ningen'isu, pronounced ) is a Japanese heavy metal band. The name of the band is taken from the 1924 short story The Human Chair by Edogawa Rampo. The main members are Shinji Wajima (guitars and vocal), Ken-ichi Suzuki (bass) and Nobu Nakajima. Wajima and Suzuki were born in Hirosaki city of Aomori in Japan. Wajima and Suzuki met in a local music salon when Suzuki lent Wajima a Kiss record, around the time they entered junior high school.

Labels: Tokuma Japan Communications. Genres: Hard Rock, Heavy Metal . The title (萬燈籠, "Mandoro") means 10,000 Hanging Lanterns in Japanese. The reading itself, Mandoro, is from the Tsugaru dialect, where it refers to brilliant light, typically that of the full moon.
After the record’s shortest song follows the epic of the album entitled Kuroyuri Nikki ( Black Lily Diary ) which is a heavy doom metal anthem with thundering riffs, an apocalyptically pumping bass guitar, a tight drumming and dramatic vocals. The chorus is extremely catchy and won’t get out of your mind anytime soon. The guitar solo in this song is seriously one of the coolest I have ever heard of. It sounds a little bit like traditional Japanese music but still contemporary and tight. This amazing track which is maybe my personal favourite on the album ends with fast drumming and a very tight instrumental part that almost sounds like thrash metal. The combination of traditional Japanese folklore, classic doom metal and a few more modern heavy or thrash metal parts sounds perfectly balanced on this track.
