Ten Little Indians is an American children's counting out rhyme. It has a Roud Folk Song Index number of 12976. The term "Indians" in this sense is referring to American Indians. In 1868, songwriter Septimus Winner adapted it as a song, then called "Ten Little Injuns", for a minstrel show. The modern lyrics for the children's rhyme are: The song sometimes begins with a repeated verse, "John Brown met a little Indian" before entering the well-known verses.

Ten little, nine little, eight little Indians Seven little, six little, five little Indians Four little, three little, two little Indians One little Indian boy. Слова у песенки простые: числа от 1 до 10 (мы их уже знаем), little (маленький), Indian (индеец, индейский), boy (мальчик). Nursery Rhymes: Ten Little Indians (Простой вариант – счет от 1 до 10). Nursery Rhymes: Ten Little Indians (Вариант посложнее: счет от 1 до 10 и обратно и скорость выше)  . Spelling error report.

Ten Little Indians is a old nursery rhyme from USA. It was first time published in back in 1868. Then it was called "Ten Little Injuns", and it had 10 verses. You can find the original lyrics below. Even though it is a old song, Ten Little Indians is still popular. Tip: Ten Little Indians is a so called "number rhyme", and it is great for teaching counting.

Nilsson shows us how the Ten Little Indians are obliterated one by one as they transgress the commandments: "One stood looking at another man's wife" - This could actually cover two commandments: Thou shalt not covet (don't lust after something belonging to someone else, including someone's spouse) and Thou shalt not commit adultery (he was thinking about it. Songwriter Septimus Winner wrote "Ten Little Injuns" for a minstrel show in 1864. His version sees them bowing out through a series of accidents until the last one escapes death by getting married and having "ten 'injuns' more" with his wife. It's not clear who's version came first, but Winner was possibly inspired by Frank J. Green's blackface number "Ten Little Ni-ers.
