Crowded House is the self-titled debut album by the band Crowded House. It was released in 1986 and produced by Mitchell Froom. The album was the first to feature band-leader Neil Finn following the break-up of his previous group Split Enz. The album includes the hit singles "Don't Dream It's Over", "Something So Strong", "Mean to Me", "World Where You Live" and "Now We're Getting Somewhere", the first four of which were included on the group's first greatest hits album Recurring Dream.

Now We're Getting Somewhere" was released in New Zealand after "Don't Dream It's Over" and "Something So Strong" in 1987.
Unlike Time on Earth, the 2007 "reunion" album for Crowded House which came from what was intended to be a Neil Finn solo record, Intriguer is a complete recording. It's a vision, if you will, of Crowded House circa 2010 - Finn, original bassist Nick Seymour, long-serving session/touring musician Mick Hart and drummer Matt Sherrod. Perhaps it's for this very reason that Intriguer - by definition, one who intrigues - feels like such a complete experience. A documentation of a revitalised and invigorated household name, Finn and co. have put their name to what is potentially.
CROWDED HOUSE: Bio, – believe it or not – marks the 30th anniversary of Crowded House’s legendary self-titled debut album ars since those unforgettable scenes on the steps of the Sydney Opera House when Crowded House bid farewell to the world, and just a whisker under ten years since the Crowdies reformed
After the album was released, Crowded House embarked on a successful European tour. They were beginning an American tour when Hester decided to leave the band to spend more time with his new family. Hiring a session drummer, the band rounded out the tour, eventually returning to Australia. In 2010, Neil and new Crowded House lineup returned with the studio album Intriguer. Crowded House supported Intriguer with an international tour, during which time a new hits collection, The Very Very Best of Crowded House, appeared.
Crowded House returned as a fully functional band. And the album was pretty good, even if the regrets of Paul Hester's suicide loomed over a majority of the 14 tracks. Now it's safe to say that Crowded House are surprising fans in 2010, continuing their momentum with an album that's a little bit different. Vintage Crowded House" is what I kept hearing about "Intriguer. Intriguer shows Finn and company hitting a stride which picks up where the masterful Together Alone left off. I think it's the album their catalog was building up to in many ways, albeit without the ethereal vocal contribution of the late Paul Hester. One person found this helpful.
