The Sound of Fury was the first album released by Billy Fury in 1960. Described as "the best rock & roll album to come out of England's original beat boom of the late 1950s". Fury was arguably the first British rock 'n roll artist to write his own songs, sometimes under the pseudonym Wilbur Wilberforce. The album was recorded in Decca Studio 3, West Hampstead, London, on 14 April 1960. It featured Joe Brown on guitar, Reg Guest on piano, and bassists Bill Stark or Alan Weighell

This double LP is one of the better sets to pick up if you still prefer vinyl, including the entirety of his 1960 album The Sound of Fury and various singles from 1958 to 1965. The Sound of Fury is respectable rockabilly-inspired material; the singles are largely faithful, forgettable covers of American rock and pop hits, the moody 1960 ballad "Wondrous Place" and the brassy pop of 1965's "In Thoughts of You" (his final British Top Ten hit) being standouts.
