Back to Basics is the sixteenth studio album by the reggae artist Beenie Man released on July 13, 2004. His single "Dude" reached on the Billboard charts and in the British charts.

The world became a better place when Beenie Man released "Dude," the steamy rump shaker with a sting in its tail that kicks off the man's return to dancehall, Back to Basics. The 9. percent dancehall album makes 2002's star-studded Tropical Storm sound like an overly planned showcase as it trades Janet Jackson and the Neptunes for Jimmy Cheeztrix and Steven "Lenky" Marsden. Sounds like a raw deal if you're all about pop, but when dancehall fans get to hear their hero sounding so comfortable and languid they really couldn't ask for more.

Back to Basics is the seventeenth studio album by the reggae artist Beenie Man released on July 13, 2004.

His debut album, The Invincible Beenie Man: The Ten Year Old DJ Wonder was produced by Bunny Lee and released in 1983, his first hit single following the same year with the Winston Holness-produced "Over the Sea". In 1984 Beenie Man recorded some material with Barrington Levy (released ten years later), but his music career was put on hold while he finished school, and spent time travelling to the United Kingdom, United States, and Canada. Back to Basics (Beenie Man album)

by Beenie Man. Record Label: Virgin. Release Date: Jul 13, 2004. Summary: The dancehall artist returns with a more genre-consistent (and yes, back to basics) album, with a lone Timbaland-produced crossover track, "All Girls Party. Genre(s): Pop, Reggae.
