Nathan Peter Larson (born September 12, 1970 in Maryland, . is an American guitarist, singer, songwriter, and author widely known for his numerous film score compositions. He is married to Nina Persson, the lead singer of the Swedish rock band The Cardigans. In May 2011, Larson's debut novel, The Dewey Decimal System, was published by Akashic Books. The second book in the series was published summer 2012, and is entitled The Nervous System
Jealous God contains a few lighter moments as well, such as "Just Because a Man Expects Me To", a soaring duet with wife and Cardigans singer Nina Persson. The Night I Broke Three Hearts" wears its Elvis Costello influence proudly on its sleeve, and the title track manages to switch personal pronouns on its subject without sounding cheap or provocative. Larson and his wife Nina Persson have also been frequent musical collaborators, Persson providing vocals on several of Larson's film soundtracks, and Larson being a member of Persson's A Camp project and of the band on her solo album Animal Heart. Nathan Larson has always displayed his singer/songwriter heart boisterously, never once veering toward the lo-fi shoegazing that took over most of the musical '90s. Beginning in 1992 with his work with the post-punk-, R&B-, and glam-rock-informed Shudder to Think, Larson incorporated his penchant f. .In 2001, Larson released his first non-soundtrack solo recording, Jealous God. Citing the production values of Clive Langer and Alan Winstanley (Elvis Costello, David Bowie, Morrissey) and the "organic balladry" of soul mogul Al Green as influences, Larson left most of the aggressive leanings of his former band behind for this set. It was produced by Langer and Winstanley, and is a collection of soulful and inspired gems.
Larson was the lead guitarist for the 1990s band, Shudder to Think, and the original bassist for the hardcore punk band, Swiz.
