Multi-Love is the third studio album from the band Unknown Mortal Orchestra. It was released on 26 May 2015. The track "Can't Keep Checking My Phone" was featured by EA Sports on FIFA 16. The title Multi-Love is a reference to the polyamorous relationship frontman Ruban Nielson had with his wife and a younger woman from Tokyo, Japan for a year, before her visa expired and the relationship ended. The topic is a prevalent theme in the album's lyrics.

On 'Multi-Love', Unknown Mortal Orchestra frontman and t Ruban Nielson reflects on relationships: airy, humid longing, loss, the geometry of desire that occurs when three people align.

Unknown Mortal Orchestra is a Portland, Oregon-based New Zealand psychedelic rock band primarily composed of singer, guitarist, and songwriter Ruban Nielson, and bassist Jake Portrait. Nielson, formerly of The Mint Chicks, started the band in 2010. The band's first album was released in 2011 on Fat Possum Records; four subsequent studio albums have been released on Jagjaguwar, the most recent being IC-01 Hanoi (2018).

The third Unknown Mortal Orchestra was recorded during a tumultuous time in Ruban Neilson's life, when his ideas about love and marriage were blown apart, forever changed, and then carefully rebuilt. Fittingly, the music on Multi-Love is different too, changed from warped psychedelic weirdness into something a little more focused and song-oriented. Multi-Love is definitely a departure from his previous work, but he has both the skill and the passion to pull it off. Ironically, where the album stumbles a bit is on the more experimental tracks, where Neilson let his precisely controlled sound get away from him a bit. Both "Extreme Wealth and Casual Cruelty" and "Puzzles" stretch out far past the five-minute mark and didn't really need to, the former being derailed by a long sax solo, the latter featuring an acoustic guitar solo that seems to last forever.

All of the other stalker daughters dragged her under. May all her minds be made up. I’ll be your Vicodin; expired and escaped to Valhalla. She don’t want to be a man or a woman. She wants to be your love. Multi-Love has got me on my knee. We were one, then become three. Mama what have you done to me. I’m half crazy. It’s not that this song’s about her. All songs are about her.

Unknown Mortal Orchestra will discharge its third studio collection, Multi-Love, on May 26th through Jagjaguwar Records.
